Why disaster recovery matters

Data loss can strike at any time, whether through ransomware, hardware failure, human error, or natural disaster. When it happens, the ability to recover quickly isn’t just a technical challenge, it’s a business-critical requirement.

Traditional data recovery services often rely on manual processes or expensive physical infrastructure. Recovery can take hours—or worse, days—leading to lost revenue, missed SLAs, and shaken customer confidence.

    Benefits

OpenText Recover is a fully managed DRaaS platform that securely replicates data from your production environment to the OpenText or Google Cloud. It uses byte-level, real-time replication to maintain a current copy of your systems. In the event of an outage, failover can be triggered instantly, and failback is just as simple when your systems are restored. This solution is ideal for businesses looking to reduce the cost, complexity, and downtime associated with disaster recovery, without compromising performance or security.

    • Restore operations in minutes with minimal data loss.

    • Eliminate the expense of managing a secondary DR site.

    • Secure, encrypted replication both in flight and at rest.

    • Self-service failover testing and reports ensure readiness.

    • Byte-level replication and historical snapshots defend against ransomware and user error.

    Features and capabilities

    • Real-time, continuous replication with minimal RPO

    • Historical snapshot recovery points

    • Automated system discovery and agent deployment

    • Orchestration for multi-tier app recovery

    • Built-in encryption for secure data transfer and storage

    How OpenText Recover works

    • Discover and replicate

OpenText Recover uses a lightweight agent to discover and replicate systems from your primary environment to cloud storage in real time. Byte-level replication ensures minimal impact on performance while maintaining a constantly updated recovery environment.

    • Fail over to cloud

If an outage occurs, you can fail over instantly to the cloud-based environment. Automated orchestration provisions virtual machines, applies your failover policies, and boots systems in the correct order, resulting in RTOs measured in minutes.

    • Recover and validate

When ready, the system allows a simple, guided failback to the original environment. With built-in testing tools and reporting, you can validate recovery plans without disrupting your day-to-day operations.

Yes. It supports Windows Server and major Linux distributions across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms.

It uses real-time replication and multiple historical snapshots, allowing you to roll back to a clean state quickly after an attack.

Yes. It offers a modern, secure, cloud-based alternative with faster recovery times and lower infrastructure costs.

You can run non-disruptive, self-service failover tests at any time to validate your recovery plans.

Yes. Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

Yes. Failback is automated and designed to be just as seamless as failover.

Initial deployment is fast. Systems are auto-discovered, agents are pushed, and replication starts with minimal configuration.
